Display protocols allow users to connect to their remote Windows, Linux or Mac desktop as if they were
working on it locally. The Connection Broker uses 'protocol plans' to determine which protocol is used for the connection and the configuration option settings. By default, the Connection Broker uses the protocol plan defined in the user's Policy - Pool configuration. There may be times when you want to override this protocol definition for reasons such as an application used on the desktop, the location where the user is working from, or a user preference for a different protocol.
Protocol Plan Priorities
Protocol Plans can be defined in four pages. The Connection Broker follows th
1. Resources > Desktop page
The Connection Broker first looks at the desktop record, to determine it's protocol plan.
2. Resources > User page
If the desktop did not have a protocol plan defined, the Connection Broker checks the user record.
3. Configuration > Location page
If the user did not have a protocol plan defined, the Connection Broker checks if the client is a
member of a location, and it's definition.
4. Configuration > Policy - Pools tab
If the desktop, user or client location did not have a protocol plan defined, the Connection Broker
uses the plan assigned in the Policy, for the pool.
